Seychelles Yellow-Bellied Mud Terrapin
Seychelles Yellow-Bellied Mud Terrapin
Whilst many species of the Seychelles are endemic, others such as the yellow-bellied mud terrapin have been introduced. This yellow-bellied mud terrapin is a small turtle living in freshwater ecosystems, occupying lowland marshes and surrounding areas, and also rivers and streams. It can be distinguished from the other terrapin species by the yellow-grey with black patches on its underside of its shell.
